Foxes & Fossils cover “Landslide” by Fleetwood MacI first heard, and was captivated, by this song under the Dixie Chicks version of it years ago. (Probably cataloged somewhere on this tumblelog.) Of course, the iconic Stevie Nix original I later traced it to is incomparable in its own right. But this cover, I’m tempted to say I prefer it the most. And this despite the fact that it’s a ‘casual parking lot performance’ - the musicality is just stunning.Hope you enjoy too!

I saw this video awhile ago but was recently reminded of it: In it Sir George Martin (producer of The Beatles) sits down with Brian Wilson (of the Beach Boys) and dissects some of their music, including Martin’s favorite Beach Boys tune “God Only Knows” during which Brian acclaims George’s mix sounds even better than his own.

Enjoy. :)

“How to Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk” by Adele Faber & Elaine Mazlish

Highly recommend by an acquaintence, and certainly all help is appreciated when doing our best to guide the little ones. (How any of us ever made it out of childhood is a humongous question.)

Amazon link here (though I am finding myself increasing looking for local store sourcing).

Clearly on a Bee Gees kick here folks, so apologies. But here’s a profile made in 1997 that shows a lot of the backstory and takes its time so you get a deeper flavor for who and where the Bee Gees are of.

(And just so I have a place to link it, here is their full 1997 One Night Only concert with the least commercial interuptions.)

To add to the list of “Not Well Known BeeGees Songs that Should Be” 🎶 ->

‘Songbird’, an American piano man-style song 🎹 with moving lyrics that appeared on their 1975 album, Main Course:

“This is Where I Came In” - The Official Story of the Bee Gees.

Released in 2001 and two hours in length, an enjoyable and insightful look at the relationships, times, and music of three brothers who set out to be famous.

OMG, the Bee Gees circa 1963 singing “Blowing in the Wind” - brothers harmonizing is imitable.

Never seen them this young, but you can experience how well they perform with each other (after you get past 1m intro). ;)
